Follow along with the results of the WWE Battleground match between Rusev and Zack Ryder.
On Sunday night, the WWE Battleground pay-per-view is ongoing. This is the final show before WWE SummerSlam, often considered the company’s second-biggest event of the year. Dean Ambrose vs. Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins will headline the July 24 show.
One of the mid-card matches saw Rusev defend the WWE United States Championship vs. Zack Ryder. This stemmed from multiple segments between the two, which led to the Broski challenging for America’s title.
So what was seen in this match at the WWE Battleground PPV?
Lana was out first, looking like the Ravishing Russian.

Rusev would go for offense at ringside, but Ryder moved out of the way. This led to Rusev going straight into the barricade.

Rusev would ending up defeating Ryder with the Accolade. This came on the second attempt of the submission move.
After the match, Rusev continued beating down Ryder. However, Mojo Rawley would make his WWE debut and make the save for his buddy.

So we saw a debut and Rusev retain the U.S. title here. It was a decent segment to take us through the WWE Battleground PPV.
