DraftKings MLB: Top Bargain plays for July 25th

Finding value can be the ever so elusive, “Holy Grail.” Making cap room for pitchers and big bats can make all the difference in a lineup. With a little elbow grease in the research department, I’m hoping to provide a handful of players that could provide critical salary relief for tonight’s DraftKings MLB slate.

Finally a night off from Coors Field and yet we still have three games with a total of 10 or higher. In order to fit in the bats from Toronto, Boston, Texas, and Baltimore, you’ll need to find some cheap bats with upside. Here is a list of who you should consider when filling in your lineups.

Alcides Escobar – KC (SS) – $2300

Kansas City’s projected run total of 4.4 is in the middle of the road tonight, but if Escobar ends up batting lead off, he offers tremendous value. Escobar benefits by being on the good side of a righty vs. lefty match up. Escobar also provides stolen base upside, with .144 stolen bases per game.

Jarrett Parker – SF (OF) – $2800

Parker has extreme splits, where he is much more effective when facing right handed pitching. He’ll face DeSclafani (R) tonight. If Parker is batting 6th or higher, he provides some value.

Nolan Reimold – BAL (OF) – $2900

Baltimore has one of the highest team totals on the slate at 5.7 runs. Reimold will face a lefty tonight and should be able to take advantage no matter where he ends up in the lineup.

Tommy La Stella – CHC (2B/3B) – $3300

La Stella will find his way into many of my lineups tonight. The Cubs have a fairly high team total coming in around 4.9 runs and La Stella has .352 wOBA split against righties. This value is assuming he bats first in the order. If he falls outside of the top four in the batting order, his value will decrease accordingly.

Other Value Plays To Consider: Contreras, Profar, Gosselin, Mazara, Carrera

Note: Keep in mind that recommended plays are based off of early information and will be subject  to change as lineups are released. Some cheaper players are more suspect to be scratched from the lineup or bumped down the lineup order. Follow me on Twitter @MattMcGarvey215, where I’ll try to update these plays the best I can!
