5. Baltimore Orioles

The Orioles have a pretty strong lineup already, but Reddick can essentially complete it. When looking at the  Orioles current roster, their only real hole in the lineup would be in left field. 28-year old rookie Hyun Soo Kim is currently on the disabled list rehabbing a hamstring.

That puts a platoon of Julio Borbon and Nolan Reimold in left field for now. Borbon had just been brought up due to the injury issues, but is hitting .222 this year. At age 30, Borbon has less than 900 MLB plate appearances. Reddick is a clear upgrade over this left handed hitting option.

When Kim is to come back, there is still a spot as the designated hitter open. Pedro Alvarez is the team’s starting DH, but this year is hitting .240, and is hitting .246 against right handed pitching in his career. Kim is not quite a strong fielder, and may be better off pushing Alvarez out of the DH spot.

Therefore, there could be a wide open half of a platoon for Reddick. Reddick is not an expensive option, and will not take too many prospects to land. He is only signed on for this year and could provide a nice spark for the Orioles going forward towards the playoffs.
