Randy Gregory was already facing a four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy. That suspension is going to be longer.
Dallas Cowboys defensive end Randy Gregory was already slated to miss the first four games of the NFL season after violating the league’s substance abuse policy.
He would be permitted to practice and play during the preseason, but that’s not even going to happen after the latest development.
Randy Gregory had another violation of NFL’s substance abuse policy and is now facing a longer suspension, sources tell @toddarcher and me.

On top of Gregory violating the league’s policy again and facing a longer suspension, ESPN’s Ed Werder reported that Gregory checked into a treatment facility.
Sources: Cowboys pass-rusher Randy Gregory has checked into treatment facility, won't report to training camp. Already suspended

My understanding of Randy Gregory's coming suspension is its for 10 games, at least. There is concern on #Cowboys that he may not play again

It’s been a common trend for the Cowboys defense in recent months, especially after the signing of Greg Hardy and his 10-game suspension last season for domestic violence charges and both Demarcus Lawrence and Rolando McClain being handed suspensions to serve this season.

Gregory has shown promise in limited action on the field, but he’s violated the league’s substance abuse policy not once, but twice and this year marks just his second season in the NFL.
On top of that, he failed a drug test at the 2015 NFL Scouting Combine before the draft to raise the red flags even higher around him.
The most important matter at hand is that he gets some medical assistance and gets his personal life together before stepping back on the field.
