Former Pro Bowl quarterback Nick Foles has been waived by the Los Angeles Rams before 2016 training camp. Here are five teams desperate enough to sign him.

On Wednesday shortly before the Los Angeles Rams began their first NFL training camp since relocating to Southern California this offseason, Rams general manager Les Snead cut ties with former starting quarterback Nick Foles.

Foles is a four-year NFL veteran but was completely ineffective quarterbacking the worst passing offense in St. Louis last fall. After earning a trip to the Pro Bowl in his second NFL season as a part of the 2013 Philadelphia Eagles, the former Arizona Wildcats star quarterback finds himself as an unrestricted free agent entering year five in the league.

Los Angeles’ decision to cut Foles doesn’t come as a surprise. The Rams selected former California Golden Bears starting quarterback Jared Goff with the No. 1 overall pick in this past spring’s NFL Draft. Though Goff could theoretically start in Week 1, Snead and Rams head coach Jeff Fisher seem completely comfortable with letting Case Keenum be the primary signal caller until the Goff era officially begins in Los Angeles.

Though Foles could start for a bad NFL team at this point in his NFL career, he’s likely going to have to compete for a backup quarterback gig in 2016 and earn his next opportunity to start for somebody. Here are five teams that could be desperate to sign Foles this offseason.
