Retired superstar Kobe Bryant was recently seen touring a Ferrari factory and then tearing up the racetrack in Maranello, Italy with one.
For retired NBA superstar Kobe Bryant, life after basketball hasn’t fully slowed down. The four-time champion with the Los Angeles Lakers was recently in Italy where he not only toured a Ferrari factory but also got to drive one super fast on the test track. On Tuesday, Bryant posted a video clip of himself in the fancy yellow sportscar on Instagram with the caption “Mamba on the track!”
According to TMZ, Bryant was visiting Maranello, Italy for the Mamba Mentality European Tour. Before the test drive, he took a private tour of the Ferrari factory there. It was only nature that he’d get inside one and race it around the track.
The car that Kobe got to test out is the Ferrari F12 TDF model where TDF stands for Tour de France. The car specs indicate it can go from 0 to 62 mph in 2.9 seconds and tops out at 211 mph.
The cost of the car, with a limited production of just under 800 units, is estimated around $320,000. That’s easily affordable for Bryant, although being the family man he is, he may be opting for different vehicles during his retired life.
By the way, Kobe also mentions via one of his Instagram hashtags that this was on his “#bucketlist,” which would certainly be an interesting list to see. With the amount of money he’s earned from his basketball careers, as well as what he’ll continue to earn from his Kobe brands and endorsements, it’s probable he could take a test flight to the moon when they become available.
