The Cincinnati Bengals won the AFC North once again in 2015 for the second time in three seasons. However, just like their previous six playoff appearances, the Bengals wound up losing in the first round of the playoffs. They have now lost in the first round of the playoffs in five consecutive years. Cincinnati will try to figure out what went wrong as they try to defend their AFC North crown and advance past the first round of the playoffs for the first time since 1990.

They will be without linebacker Vontaze Burfict for the first three games of the 2016 season. The Bengals will need someone to replace his production and replace the tenacity and energy that he brings to the Bengals defense. Geno Atkins should certainly help with that and so should newcomer linebacker Karlos Dansby.

Optimistically, quarterback Andy Dalton and wide receiver AJ Green lead an extremely potent offense that is more than capable of putting up points. Running backs Jeremy Hill and Giovani Bernard form a very potent backfield duo. The two running backs combined for over 1,500 rushing yards and 2,000 total yards with 14 touchdowns last season.

Cincinnati will get to work on starting on July 26, when rookies report to training camp. On July 28, the veterans will report to training camp. Bengals’ training camp will be held at Paul Brown Stadium in 2016. One of the big questions going into training camp is who will step up to replace wide receiver Mohamed Sanu, who brought a lot of athleticism to the field for the Bengals.
