Taking a look at when the Pittsburgh Steelers open training camp in 2016.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are once again looking like serious Super Bowl contenders. Even with star running back Le’Veon Bell missing four games due to a positive drug test, the Steelers offense is still Super Bowl caliber thanks to quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and wide receiver Antonio Brown. With a revamped defense that has finally been addressed, the Steelers should be a playoff team in 2016 assuming that Roethlisberger can stay even somewhat healthy.

How far the Steelers will go into 2016 largely depends on how much their defense has improved. In the 2016 NFL Draft, the Steelers added corner Artie Burns in the first round and defensive tackle Javon Hargrave in the third round. Combined with some other young pieces, including defensive end Bud Dupree and cornerback Senquez Golson, the Steelers defense finally looks younger.

Roethlisberger and Brown can’t carry the offensive load by himself. Wide receiver Martavis Bryant was supposed to help carry the load, but he will miss the 2016 season due to a suspension. The Steelers will rely heavily on Darrius Heyward-Bey and Markus Wheaton to help replace the dynamic offense that Bryant gave them. Expect Brown to challenge a few single-season records this season. Roethlisberger loves him and they have great chemistry.

The Steelers will open training camp on Wednesday, July 27 when rookies report. Veterans will report on July 28. Pittsburgh will hold its training camp at Saint Vincent College.
