Brett Favre joins sports media with SiriusXM radio show

What do NFL legends do when they retire? They join the media, of course.

Possibly the most loved Green Bay Packer of all time will enter the ranks of sports media as a radio host for Sirius XM NFL this year.

Yep, we’re going to get Brett Favre talkin’ about football this fall. How Favre does as a host remains to be seen, but he’s one of the few sports icons personable enough to pull it off. The only question that’s raised by this is how many Wrangler ads will Favre put on his show. The official unofficial over/under is set at two per hour.

Brett Favre will always be remembered in Green Bay as the guy who brought the team back to great heights, then abandoned it. In 2008, Favre retired, then unretired, hoped to head to the Vikings, saw the Vikings get caught tampering, then headed to the Jets instead. The Packers were all set to retire Farve’s number in the 2008 season, but postponed those plans as he was still in the NFL. After two years with the Minnesota Vikings, Favre retired after the 2010 season.

Favre was more than just a good quarterback. He was an inspiration. The Monday Night Football game against the Raiders that he played in despite losing his father the day prior was a tearjerker to end all tearjerkers. Favre pummeled the Raiders 41-7, securing a standing ovation from the crowd in Oakland. Brett Favre may or may not be a good sportscaster. He was one of the best to ever play quarterback.
