Identifying the top high salary and value pitcher plays from around Major League Baseball for your July 28 DraftKings lineup.

Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.

As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.

High Salary

Jose Fernandez, Marlins (13,400): No surprise here. Fernandez’s 175 strikeouts rank second in the majors, while his 12 wins are tied for third. He’s topped 20 DK points in five of his last starts, including three outings of 30-plus points. He’s simply one of baseball’s brightest young talents and, though he’ll cost a pretty penny, he’s always worth a spot in your lineup.

Chris Sale, White Sox (11,000): Sale will return to the mound for Chicago after being scratched in his last start for the now infamous jersey-cutting incident. Like Fernandez, Sale is always an elite fantasy option, and that’s certainly the case Thursday against the crosstown rival Chicago Cubs. Sale has topped 25 DK points in four of his last five starts and is a good bet to do it again Thursday.

High Value

David Price, Red Sox (9,300): Price has been incredibly inconsistent in his first season with Boston. In his last two starts, he’s tallied a combined 4.50 DK points. Before that, he had topped 20 DK points in three straight starts. We’re banking on a positive outing from Price on Thursday against the last-place Los Angeles Angels. However, the risk makes him a better GPP play.

Aaron Nola, Phillies (8,400): Nola has struggled since the middle of June, tallying fewer than three DK points in four of his last six starts. He should be able to bounce back Thursday against the last-place Atlanta Braves, against whom he finished with 17.75 DK points in a start back on May 20. Just like Price, Nola is best viewed as GPP play, given his up-and-down nature.
