DraftKings MLB: Top Bargain plays for July 28th

Finding value can be the ever so elusive, “Holy Grail.” Making cap room for pitchers and big bats can make all the difference in a lineup. With a little elbow grease in the research department, I’m hoping to provide a handful of players that could provide critical salary relief for tonight’s DraftKings MLB slate.

Tonight’s slate will feature seven games, none of which have teams projected over 5.1 runs. Miami is the biggest favorite of the night, followed by Boston, and Texas. The Rangers seem to be priced fairly soft, providing a few cheaper value plays.

Jurickson Profar – TEX (2B/3B) – $3700

Profar is a switch hitter, who has much better splits against righties. He’ll benefit from facing the right hander, Ventura, tonight. Texas has one of the highest team totals on the slate at 5.1 runs. If he’s batting lead off tonight, he’ll be a great value play.

Miguel Rojas – MIA (2B/SS) – $2700

Miami is favored to crush the Cards tonight and Rojas could take advantage of this. He doesn’t draw a great match up, facing a righty, but given Miami’s team total and his price, he could be a sufficient punt option this evening.

Robbie Grossman – MIN (OF) – $3800

Grossman is another product of a high team total. He’s a switch hitter that fares better against lefties than righties, but if he’s batting fourth or higher, he’ll be a great value with upside.

Joey Gallo – TEX (3B/OF) – $3300

Gallo got the call up on Tuesday night and in Joey Gallo fashion, he hit a homer, while also striking out twice in four total at bats. Like Profar, Gallo obtains value from being on the good side of a lefty vs. righty split and Texas having a high team total. He may not have impressive cash game value, but his tournament upside is the real deal.

Hyun-Soo Kim – BAL (OF) – $3800

Kim has struggled mightily of late, but he’ll face Gibson, a righty, in a spot where Baltimore could put some runs on the board. His splits drastically favor him tonight as he’s batting with a .408 wOBA and .135 ISO against right handers. If he’s batting 2nd, he’ll provide more than enough value.
