DraftKings MLB: Top Bargain plays for July 29th

Finding value can be the ever so elusive, “Holy Grail.” Making cap room for pitchers and big bats can make all the difference in a lineup. With a little elbow grease in the research department, I’m hoping to provide a handful of players that could provide critical salary relief for tonight’s DraftKings MLB slate.

Tonight’s slate features 14 games, none of which have a total of ten runs or more. The biggest favorite tonight is the LA Dodgers (-235). With a few high-priced pitching options such as, Kenta Maeda and Max Scherzer, here are my recommended cheap value options tonight.

Jose Bautista – TOR (OF) – $3900

Toronto has one of the highest team totals of the night and if Joey Bats is leading off, he’ll be included in my core players. Bautista has reverse splits and has hit righties better than lefties this year with a .390 wOBA and .271 ISO split.

John Jaso – PIT (1B) – $2800

Jaso’s recent struggles have kept his price down, which leads to him making this list yet again. It’s the same story as always, he has great splits against righties and if he can find himself back in the lead off role, he’ll have value.

Jurickson Profar – TEX (2B/3B) – $3800

Profar got the night off last night (aside from one PH at bat), but the same logic listed yesterday applies today. Texas has a team total of 4.8 and Profar will benefit from facing Volquez, a righty, tonight.

Cesar Hernandez – PHI (2B) – $3500

Philly finds themselves as favorites tonight and Cesar has proved to be a worthy cash game play. He’s a switch hitter who enjoys facing righties with a .305 wOBA split. He also provides stolen base upside.
