NBA star Jeremy Lin recently released his own sequel to the classic “Space Jam” movie which originally starred Michael Jordan.

NBA star Jeremy Lin recently created a “Space Jam 3” short movie, indicating that the newest member of the Brooklyn Nets may be looking for a second job in Hollywood. Lin’s sequel is ironically the third installment in a franchise which has only had one movie so far. That was in 1996 and starred Michael “Air” Jordan in the lead role.

In Jordan’s movie, the basketball icon was transported into a Looney Tunes world where he assisted various cartoon characters in defeating a team of monstrous aliens. Lin’s short film is a bit different, as the Nets guard announces he’s retiring from basketball to partake in his favorite activities: watching anime and playing video games.

Lin soon finds himself transported into a world where he must help out a team of anime characters learn basketball. They quickly realize he isn’t Michael Jordan or LeBron James, but Lin showcases his skills nonetheless. From there, they must compete against a considerably superior anime team. Luckily, Lin is there to assist.

While Lin hasn’t really appeared in any major motion pictures, this audition could give him a role down the road. He’s appeared on one episode of 2015’s “Fresh Off the Boat” sitcom as a character named Chau in addition to appearing as himself on various other shows.

The “Space Jam 3” video released just yesterday has already surpassed 1.5 million views on YouTube. So based on the reports that LeBron James will play the lead in “Space Jam 2,” Linsanity just may be on the way to a big screen near you.
