The NFL has officially reinstated Dolphins defensive end Dion Jordan after he missed all of 2015 due to a diluted drug test in April of 2015.
Miami Dolphins defensive end Dion Jordan missed all of 2015 after his third strike in the NFL’s performance-enhancing substance program. While he didn’t fail the test, his sample was diluted which still counts as a strike in the program. The NFL has announced that they have officially re-instated Jordan and he is eligible to play in 2016 for the Dolphins.

Jordan was drafted by the Dolphins with the third overall pick of the 2013 NFL Draft after a successful college career with the University of Oregon. In 26 NFL games (all with the Dolphins), Jordan has 46 tackles and three sacks. He has only started one game in his NFL career.
It’s hard to think of Jordan as anything but a bust at this point. As the third-overall pick, people had very high expectations for Jordan. He was supposed to give the Dolphins an elite pass rusher who would help them get to New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. That hasn’t been the case.
However, Jordan is still just 26 years old. He’s still young and he’s still an explosive football player. Missing all of 2015 was detrimental to his development. One has to wonder how many more chances the Dolphins will give Jordan, who already has three strikes on his record for three failed drug tests. This year could be Jordan’s last chance, not just with the Dolphins, but also with the NFL.
