East Offense

  • QB: Andrew Luck
  • RB: Todd Gurley
  • WR: Brandon Marshall
  • WR: Keenan Allen
  • TE: Rob Gronkowski
  • TE: Greg Olsen
  • LT: Duane Brown
  • LG: Justin Pugh
  • C: Stefan Wisniewski
  • RG: Richie Incognito
  • RT: Morgan Moses

Every player represented in this post is a top-notch NFL player. That being said, when being compared to the offensive squads in the other regions, the East clearly falls behind.

Andrew Luck could become one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, but when compared to Rodgers, Newton and Wilson, he is clearly the fourth best at the moment. I searched far and wide for another option for the East at QB, but Joe Flacco was the next best option. Luck it is.

I am a huge Todd Gurley fan, and him being on the East offense certainly helps. Gurley is an extremely talented back who can make plays in both the running game and as a receiver. I do not know if the talent surrounding him is enough to make plays against some incredible defensive units, but Gurley will make an impact regardless.

Brandon Marshall and Keenan Allen make up a strong duo for the East at wide receiver. However, again they clearly are not as great as the others in this practice. Plus with Kevin White and Stefon Diggs being the next best wide receivers out of the East, only starting two receivers made the most sense.

The East is absolutely loaded at tight end. Not only do they have the best in the game in Rob Gronkowski, they probably have the current second-best tight end in football in Greg Olsen. The combination of Gronk and Olsen would be deadly for the East.

Plus, having both on the field instead of having a third receiver could mean more opportunities to shine for Gurley in the running game.

That being said, the East’s offensive line is much worse than the others. Duane Brown, Justin Pugh, Stefen Wisniewski, Rich Incognito and Morgan Moses from left to right is above average in the NFL, but it is not anything special here.

I imagine that the East’s offensive line would struggle against the more physically talented defensive lines of the other teams.

An offense centered around Gronkowski and Gurley with Marshall and Allen making plays on the outside could certainly work. That being said, in this All-Star like setting, doubt that Luck would be able to lead this group to success.
