High-Salary Value Option: Yadier Molina-St. Louis Cardinals (3,500): Molina has hit safely in 13 straight games coming into tonight’s matchup with the Marlins and ha multiple hits in four straight as well. He has gone 24-73 (.329) overall in the month of July and 10-20 (.500) in the last week including five doubles. Molina is also a nice play tonight since he has gone 4-7 with a home run in his career against Colin Rea who will be making his Marlins’ debut tonight against Molina and St. Louis. ∗∗∗
Mid-Range Option: Welington Castillo-Arizona Diamondbacks (3,400): Castillo has hit in four straight including last night’s 2-4 with a double, RBI, and run scored. He will look to stay hot tonight against lefty Scott Kazmir. Castillo is 28-83 (.337) against southpaws this season with a 1.064 OPS (compared to .621 OPS vs RHP). He has never faced Kazmir in his career, but he’s a nice cheap option with plenty of upside tonight against the Dodgers.∗∗∗
High-Value Option: Sandy Leon-Boston Red Sox (2,500): Leon is 15-31 (.484) this year against lefties and two of his three home runs this season have also come against southpaws. After getting last night off, he’ll probably be back on the field tonight as the Sox take on lefty Hector Santiago and the Angels in LA. Leon is 1-2 against Santiago in his career, but the switch-hitting catcher’s success of lefties makes him a solid option at just 2,500 .∗∗∗∗
