As players for the Minnesota Vikings get ready for the upcoming football season, one notable Viking will not be participating fully in training camps. Adrian Peterson pulled his hamstring while working out to help get himself into optimal body condition.

The injury itself isn’t a big concern. Hamstrings injuries are just part of life for the average NFL player. In fact, because Peterson suffered the pulled hamstring now, at the beginning of training camp, he should be well recovered by the time the regular season gets underway.

Now that Peterson has suffered an injury, the Vikings need to ensure that he rests his body to avoid further injury. If Peterson fails to properly rest and take the appropriate actions, his injury could linger into the season, and if not properly dealt with, could impact his ability to perform at a high level.

Unless the injury is reaggravated, Peterson’s fantasy football outlook is just as bright as it was before he suffered the pulled hamstring. While everyone hates to see athletes suffer injuries, fantasy football players should feel confident that the Vikings running back will be in tip-top shape and ready to play.

Lastly, Peterson has proved to be tough-as-nails during his NFL career. One season after tearing his ACL, the talented runner rushed for 2,097 yards, which was just nine yards short of the all-time season rushing record. Maybe this hamstring injury is just the motivation he needs to finally break that record.
