With the MLB trade deadline less than 24 hours away, there have been plenty of MLB trade rumors. The Baltimore Orioles are one of the teams that are trying to upgrade for a run at the postseason, and adding a pitcher is on their wishlist.
According to Ken Rosenthal, the Orioles are in talks with the Seattle Mariners about left-handed pitcher Wade Miley.

Starting pitching has been a major issue for the Orioles this season, and them being in first place in the American League East shows just how great their lineup and bullpen has been this season. Miley has not pitched well this season for the Mariners, as he has totaled a 7-8 record and a 4.98 ERA.
Even though the numbers aren’t good for Miley this season, he would be an upgrade in the starting rotation for the Orioles. Besides Chris Tilman and Kevin Gausman, the Orioles’ rotation has been awful this season, and Miley would at least be a minor upgrade for them.
One of the things that the Orioles might like about Miley is that he has pitched well in July. In the final month before the deadline, Miley has totaled a 1-4 record, but his 3.45 ERA is very appealing for teams like the Orioles.

The margin for error in the AL East is very slim for the Orioles, as both the Toronto Blue Jays and the Boston Red Sox are breathing down their necks in the standings. The Red Sox have already made a big move to improve their poor rotation with the acquisition of Drew Pomeranz, and now the Orioles will need to improve their rotation if they are going to hold on to the lead in the division.
