1. Kansas City Royals

Whether it’s fatigue from two deep playoff runs or the Kansas City Royals just simply not playing their best baseball this year, the defending World Series Champions have taken a step back this year, and the playoffs likely aren’t going to happen.

However, that shouldn’t make the Royals put themselves in the same category as other teams that are going to miss the postseason. They are a team that made two straight World Series appearances and won one.

In all likelihood, this was just a down year, and that happens with a lot of miles on the bodies of a team that has mainly stayed the same for the last couple of years

If they can maybe make a move or two that will bring in some more prospects or add a fresh veteran to the lineup, the Royals should consider them to get some guys some rest or find a new change of scenery.

They shouldn’t be looking to do anything major, but just some minor retooling to get ready for next season. The team had some bad luck when they were working on a deal to trade Wade Davis only for injuries to nullify any chance of that happening.
