DraftKings fantasy golf picks: Travelers Championship 2016
Get your fantasy golf team ready to tee it up for another great tournament this week with the help of my DraftKings fantasy golf picks for the Travelers Championship.
After two Major Championships in three weeks and a marathon Sunday for many of the world’s top golfers, it’s probably a good thing that this week’s tournament is just a few hours from Springfield where the PGA Championship crowned Jimmy Walker as the winner of the final Major of the season and the fourth first-time Major winner this year. There’s still plenty of good golf to go this summer, though, starting with the Travelers Championship this week which you can preview in the following slides by checking out my DraftKings fantasy golf picks.
The Travelers Championship is held each year just outside of Hartford Connecticut and has a history going back to 1952. The course was originally known as Edgewood Country Club but was overhauled in 1991 and renamed the TPC River Highlands. The course has hosted the event ever year since its renovation, so there is plenty of course history to go on this week.
The course itself is a par-70 which usually yields low scored resulting in winning scores of -15 or lower. The most well-known holes on the course are the last few holes which circumvent a lake on holes 15-17 before a final hole with a natural amphitheater which fills up with spectators on Sunday. For a hole-by-hole preview of what to expect check out the official site, the bluegolf overview, and the PGATour.com course overview which has the same descriptions but better pictures.
The field this week should give us plenty of fantasy golf options since players seem to really enjoy this event. While the biggest names will take a breather after two Majors so close together, there are 12 of the top 30 in the OWGR (Official World Golf Rankings) scheduled to participate. Branden Grace, Patrick Reed, Louis Oosthuizen, Paul Casey, and two-time Travelers’ Champion Bubba Watson are some of the bigger names in the field.
Whether this is your fantasy golf debut or you pick your players every week, you can start building your team by checking out my DraftKings fantasy golf picks on the following slides. Each week, my picks are right here on FanSided and can easily be found by putting a bookmark on our fantasy golf hub or by following @FansidedFantasy on Twitter where I’ll tweet the link when the post goes live each week. I’ll also use that account to let you know how my picks are going as the week goes on, and I’ll be happy to answer any questions you have.
My picks each week are divided into separate slides for each of the 1,000 price bracket to help you find the price point that you are looking for to get the stars, sleepers, and midrange plays that you’ll need to fill in your lineups this week.
To see who I’m getting in my three lineups for the week, you can check out my personal DraftKings Fantasy Golf Picks lineups on the final slide of this post. Feel free to add in your own favorites and blend my picks together on your way to what I hope will be a successful tournament. If things change before tee time or players availability changes, I’ll update my lineup on our FansidedFantasy Twitter feed.
With those pre-tournament notes out of the way, let’s tee of with my DraftKings fantasy golf picks starting with the most expensive players in the field this week.
