Francesco Molinari (8,900): Molinari has developed into a sneaky-smart play many weeks since he is crafty enough to make his game work on most any course.  He started a nice summer run with a t7 at THE PLAYERS and added a t8 at the Quicken Loans and a solo-second at the Open de France.  Last week, he finished strong with a 68-67 to end up t22 at Baltusrol and will look to post another good score this week at the Travelers where he finished t25 in his first appearance last year.

Brendan Steele (8,500): Steele missed the cut at the two Majors last month after a strong t15 at the U.S. Open.  He’s worth a look this week since he has good history at the Travelers Championship finishing in the top 25 each of the last three years highlighted by a t5 two years ago finishing three strokes behind winner Kevin Streelman.

Tony Finau (8,300): Finau burnt his owners (including me) last week at the PGA opening with a 77.  He made bogey on eight of his first 13 holes, but after that actually played the rest of the week at -1.  He struggled at the RBC Canadian Open as well ending up t70, but he still has a strong t18 at The Open Championship to show for the month of July.  Last year, Finau finished t25 highlighted by a 66 on Saturday, and he’ll look to regain that form this week.  He’s a little high-risk for over 8K, but he also has the potential to contend for the title if he brings his A-game.

Marc Leishman (8,200): The big Aussie has had a silent summer despite making the cut at the PGA (t60), The Open (t53), and the Quicken Loans (t39) in his last three starts in events with a cut. Leishman didn’t play the RBC Canadian Open, so fatigue shouldn’t be too much of a factor as he returns to the site of his one PGA career victory.

Leishman hoisted the Travelers Championship trophy in 2012 and has finished in the top 40 in each of the three years since then highlighted by a t11 in 2014. While his current form isn’t great, his experience and success at TPC River Highlands make him a solid option this week.

Charley Hoffman (8,100): When Leishman won in 2012, Charley Hoffman finished co-runner up with Bubba Watson.  That finish was his best in a string of five made cuts in his last five appearances at the Travelers.  He missed the cut last week and struggled at The Open Championship, but he did pick up a win earlier this season by edging Patrick Reed at the Valero Texas Open.
