The MLB Trade Deadline is always one of the most intriguing days of the baseball calendar. It’s the final day that teams can make deals to either add pieces for a potential playoff run or trade away established veterans for future help. The deals are often controversial, but the whole thing makes for an entertaining process.

Arguably the hottest name on the trade market was Milwaukee Brewers catcher Jonathan Lucroy. After vetoing a trade to the Cleveland Indians, he was traded to the Texas Rangers. This could change the race in the AL West, but is it for the better? Did the Indians miss out on upgrading their weak catcher position?

Plenty of bullpen pieces were moved around as well, including from the New York Yankees. They shipped out Aroldis Chapman and Andrew Miller for packages of prospects. These were bizarre moves because this team rarely chooses to sell. The mindset is to always go for the World Series in the Bronx. So, with the change in strategy in 2016, did they make out well by 4:00 p.m. ET on Monday?

Across the city, the New York Mets were also active. They acquired a big bat in Jay Bruce from the Cincinnati Reds for a package of prospects. Does the fit make sense with the Mets, though?

With this in mind, here is a look at the winners and losers from the 2016 MLB Trade Deadline.
