Spencer Dinwiddie is excited for Pokemon Sun and Moon
Since the release of Pokémon Go in July, NBA fans have gotten a glimpse of just how many NBA players grew up playing the Pokémon games. Players like Rudy Gobert, Tobias Harris and more have shared their collections or encounters on social media and fans seem to love watching their favorite players play. One player who didn’t get into Pokémon Go was Spencer Dinwiddie but as he revealed today that doesn’t mean he hates Pokémon.
The tweet comes after the release of the newest trailer for Pokémon Sun and Moon that comes out in November. It is a pretty good trailer that you really should watch if you haven’t and are excited for the game, but we aren’t here to talk about that.

Honestly, it is pretty cool that Dinwiddie is so vocal about being excited about Pokémon. Most NBA players probably wouldn’t be because of some crazy stereotype that Pokémon isn’t for tough athletes. (I say most because we all know Gordon Hayward probably already has both preordered).
In reality, Pokémon would fit perfectly into an NBA schedule. Since it is a handheld game able to go anywhere it feels like the perfect time killer for a flight or late night bus ride to a hotel. Considering how many players are of a younger generation that grew up with Pokémon as a huge part of their lives it is a bit surprising Dinwiddie is the first guy to tweet about his excitement for the games.
Next: Manu, Boris, Tiago and Patty forever
Now we just need to figure out a way to set up battles with Dinwiddie once everyone has had the game for a few months.
