Taking a look the date and time for the 2016 MLB Trade Deadline

Leading up to the 2016 MLB Trade Deadline, there were plenty of big names rumored to be on the move. And on the days leading up to the deadline, we’ve seen some of those players be traded (and one such player then veto his trade). However, things could truly just get even crazier on the day of the MLB Trade Deadline.

Milwaukee Brewers catcher Jonathan Lucroy of course was the player to veto his trade, curiously electing to either stay with the out-of-contention Brewers or to go to another team other than a potential contender in the Cleveland Indians. Leading up to the deadline, though, there’s still a chance that he could be dealt with the Texas Rangers interested.

Moreover, there are still plenty of quality arms and pitchers that could be dealt before the 2016 MLB Trade Deadline, particularly for teams looking to bolster the back-end of their starting rotation now that the top relievers like Aroldis Chapman, Andrew Miller, and Mark Melancon have already been dealt.

Before the deadline, we could definitely see players like Jeremy Hellickson, Ervin Santana, Clay Buchholz, or even a surprise like Rich Hill be traded come Monday. It all depends on if teams interested can either find it within themselves to match an asking price or negotiate a better deal.

Then of course there are the big bats that could be on the move still in addition to Lucroy. There is some buzz about Yasiel Puig that has been coming up with less than 24 hours until the deadline. What’s more is that the Cincinnati Reds are still clearly trying to make a deal to trade Jay Bruce away.

With plenty of dominoes that could still fall, fans have to be wondering what time everything has to go down by. More simply, fans want to know what time the 2016 MLB Trade Deadline is at.

There will be plenty of time for a frenzy to ensue as, on Monday, Aug. 1, teams will have until 4 p.m. ET to get trades completed. If there’s one thing that seems certain, it’s that we should all buckle in until 4 p.m. ET gets here as it could be a wild race to the deadline.
