Here’s what happened in the NFL yesterday, both on and off the field.

We’re another week closer to the NFL season starting, as the Hall of Fame Game is just days away and we’re even closer to seeing Brett Favre and company get into Canton.

By the way, I just want to point out that as a Buccaneers fan — however unfortunate as that may be — I believe John Lynch should already be in the Hall of Fame. I’ll admit that I’m extremely biased here in my line of thinking, but it’s not outrageous to say that he was one of the most important Safeties of the last 15-years. He helped change the position and whether teams admit it or not, they’re looking for at least part of what Lynch was when they hunt for the next Harrison Smith or whomever.

Anyways, as sad as it is that Lynch isn’t in Canton yet, something even sadder happened. Reggie Bush decided to extend his career by signing in the one place it’s guaranteed to die a harsh death: Buffalo.

While this could be something that ends up working out, it probably won’t. In theory, having Reggie Bush as a versatile pass-catching threat out of the backfield could open things up for Sammy Watkins in the offense.

But this isn’t 2010 anymore and Bush is broken. He’ll be just as broken emotionally as he is physically when he realizes he’s living out the final year of his career in Buffalo.

Finally, off the field we saw a former NFL quarterback win something. I use both the term NFL quarterback and win something as lightly as humanly possible. Jordan Rodgers won The Bachelorette last night, meaning he finally won something in his life.

He’s still a loser, though.

Despite winning a show that millions of people watch and obsess over, he’s still in the shadow of his brother. Don’t cry for Jordan Rodgers though, he doesn’t deserve our tears.
