According to the NFL Network’s Aditi Kinkhabwala, the Pittsburgh Steelers’ secondary suffered a massive blow during Tuesday’s training camp practice, as cornerback Senquez Golson will likely be out for the next 12 weeks with a Lisfranc injury.
Ouch. @RapSheet and I were just told LOUSY news for the #Steelers. CB Senquez Golson has a lisfranc injury that could keep him out 12 weeks

The Steelers might very well still be the favorites to win the AFC North in 2016, but have not had a great offseason to say the least. Two of their star offensive weapons in running back Le’Veon Bell and No. 2 wide receiver Martavis Bryant will be suspended for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy.
No. 1 wideout Antonio Brown has considered holding out for money, as arguably the NFL’s best receiver. He will never have more leverage in his life than he does at this time, so it’s completely understandable.
Pittsburgh hasn’t been as buttoned up as a franchise as the Steelers have been historically the last few years. Even with stability in the front office and in the coaching staff, Pittsburgh has gotten progressively worse defensively and are to some degree chaotic.
Losing Golson is a tough blow for the Steelers because he could have been a key piece in turning around Pittsburgh’s lackluster defense this fall. Golson was coming off a strong rookie 2015 NFL season after being a unanimous All-American at Ole Miss in 2014.
Given the intricacies of a Lisfranc injury, effecting the metatarsals and ligaments in the top of the foot, there is a good chance Golson won’t see the field in year two as a professional until at least early November. While Pittsburgh is a playoff caliber team, this has not been a good last few weeks for the Steelers franchise.
