WWE Smackdown will reportedly be getting their own Women’s and Tag Team Championships for their brand

Even two weeks after the WWE Draft and the brand split in the company becoming official, there are still plenty of questions that fans are waiting to have answered. While the WWE Universal Championship has been announced for RAW, perhaps the biggest questions still loom for Smackdown Live considering that the brand has a bevy of women and tag teams on the roster but the Women’s and tag titles are on the RAW brand.

Apparently that’s not going to be an issue much longer as WWE has the remedy for that exact issue coming soon.

According to a report from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, WWE Smackdown is going to be getting their own Women’s and Tag Team Championships in the very near future. There’s no real word just yet on when it will happen, but it seems inevitable that these new titles will be brought into the fold.

This certainly warrants fans breathing a sigh of relief coming into this brand split. While it’s great to have things differentiated and feeling fresh, it would be a shame to see superstars like Becky Lynch, American Alpha, Alexa Bliss, and many others fall by the wayside because Smackdown doesn’t have belts for their division.

With Meltzer reporting this, it might as well be written in stone as he’s one of the most accurate insiders in the business. Now it’s time for fans to start keeping their eyes peeled as early as on the August 2 episode of Smackdown as American Alpha debuts on the WWE main roster.
