In all honesty, the San Diego Chargers are poised to have another bad season in 2016. The Chargers went 4-12 en route to earning the No. 3 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, selecting Ohio State Buckeyes pass rusher Joey Bosa, who still remains unsigned heading into his rookie year.

The Chargers still have a Hall of Fame caliber quarterback in the brilliant Philip Rivers, but he has to be on the decline at some point. Rivers has been able to play well over the years regardless of the health of his offensive weaponry.

San Diego suffered a setback in their receiving corps in the early part of 2016 NFL training camp, as one of their better wideouts Stevie Johnson tore his meniscus. Johnson is a solid receiver, but has rarely been healthy for extended periods over his nine-year NFL career with three different organizations.

The Chargers have proactively looked for replacements for Johnson in their receiving corps, working out both James Jones formerly of the Green Bay Packers and Brian Hartline of Miami Dolphins notoriety and most recently the Cleveland Browns.

San Diego ended up signing Jones, who is a great possession receiver that can at the very least be available to receive Rivers check-downs which are sure to come behind a constantly collapsing Chargers pocket. Jones offsets the Johnson injury, but San Diego will still struggle to win games tis fall.

Next: 6. Sammy Watkins.
