This might come across as a brash statement, but the Clemson Tigers have every reason to be furious that they aren’t the No. 1 team in the country. One could easily argue that Clemson might be the lone truly dominant team in college football this season.

They’ve reloaded in the front seven, improved in terms of offensive weaponry, and absolutely boast the best head coach/quarterback tandem of any school in the Power 5. Head coach Dabo Swinney will win a National Championship at Clemson in the next five years if he continues to recruit the way he has been. Quarterback Deshaun Watson should go No. 1 in the 2017 NFL Draft and could be the Tigers’ first Heisman Trophy winner.

Clemson is a perennial 10+ win team under Swinney and nobody outside of maybe the Oklahoma Sooners in Baker Mayfield will have a better quarterback in 2016. In all honesty, Clemson and Oklahoma have a bone to pick with the Crimson Tide. Both schools return more starters than does Alabama and should be upset that they’re not No. 1

The Tigers feel like the only school in the Power 5 that can go a perfect 12-0 in their regular season. Division rivals Florida State and Louisville will be tough, but Auburn, Georgia Tech, and South Carolina aren’t ranked for a reason. Clemson is a dominant team and should cakewalk to another ACC Championship if the Tigers can get past the Seminoles at Doak Walker Stadium on October 29th.

Next: 2. Alabama Crimson Tide.
