DraftKings MLB Picks: Top Bargain plays for August 4th (7:00pm slate only)

Finding value can be the ever so elusive, “Holy Grail.” Making cap room for pitchers and big bats can make all the difference in a lineup. With a little elbow grease in the research department, I’m hoping to provide a handful of players that could provide critical salary relief for tonight’s DraftKings MLB picks.
There are a few day games today, but I’ll be focusing on the night slate. The night slate features seven games, one of which is the final game of a three game series between the Dodgers and the Rockies. Yet again, this game is projected at 10.5 runs and is significantly higher than any other game. If you played the Rockies last night, it paid off. Again, they’re batters will be expensive, but here are a few options to consider when seeking cap relief.
Hyun-Soo Kim – BAL (OF) – $3600
Kim is one of my favorite plays tonight. Kim beats up on righties with a .400 wOBA split. Baltimore has the second highest team total tonight at 5.1 runs. If Kim is batting second again, he’ll be in most of my lineups.
John Jaso – PIT (1B) – $2700
Just picture me as Ed McMahon at this point, “Here’s Johnny!” If only Jaso had the same upside as Carson did. Nevertheless, were here again, Jaso facing a righty and if he’s leading off, you know what to do.
Kole Calhoun – LAA (OF) – $3400
Calhoun will face Hahn (L) and he should benefit from a good projected run total of 4.8. As long as he’s in the top four of the lineup, he’ll provide value.

Jace Peterson – ATL (2B/OF) – $3700
While Vegas doesn’t love Atlanta tonight, Jace Peterson will be valuable if he continues to bat lead off. He offers dual position eligibility and he’s in a good spot to take advantage of facing a righty.
Matthew Joyce – PIT (OF) – $3800
Like my boy Jaso, Joyce could benefit from a decent team total of the Pirates. If Joyce makes the lineup, he’ll be on the good side of a lefty vs. righty split. He also provides upside with his power, which has been evident of late. Hopefully Joyce can find a spot in the top half of the order.
David Dahl – COL (OF) – $3800
Dahl payed off last night and tonight should be fairly similar. Again, he’ll face a Righty, Maeda. Even though I like the Dodgers in this particular spot, Dahl has given us reason to believe that he’ll continue to hit lefties well. It helps that he’s still very under priced at $3800.

Note: Keep in mind that recommended plays are based off of early information and will be subject to change as lineups are released. Some cheaper players are more suspect to be scratched from the lineup or bumped down the lineup order. Follow me on Twitter @MattMcGarvey215, where I’ll try to update these plays the best I can!
