Here’s what happened in the NFL yesterday that we’re raging about today.

The NFL season can’t get here soon enough. Not only are we in the throes of the offseason but injuries are starting to pile up left and right in training camp.

This happens every year, so we should’t be that surprised when these things happen. But it’s just a reminder that your season can be lost before it even starts and that’s about as defeating as it gets.

Look, I’m a Buccaneers fan so my season is over already without injuries having a role to play. But for teams like Cincinnati who lost first-round pick William Jackson III this week and then whiffed on signing Leon Hall to replace him, it’s not the best way to build confidence as you approach the preseason.

Steelers Kill The Bumblebee

Speaking of the AFC North, the Steelers are getting rid of those atrocious bumblebee uniforms. This was a long time coming and could be the one good thing that comes from this whole Color Rush obsession the NFL has this season.

Chiefs Sign Nick Foles

On the topic of obsession, Andy Reid has another quarterback to play with. Alex Smith’s starting job is not anywhere near being in danger, but he has a backup who will help fuel quarterback controversy if things slow in Kansas City. Nick Foles has reunited with the man who drafted him in Philadelphia and we’re going to see if his career can be saved.

To be fair to Foles, things weren’t going that bad in Philly but he seemed to be more of a fluke than a legitimate NFL starter. Maybe now that he’s back under Reid’s tutelage, he can slow things down and better learn his craft so that his career isn’t forever tied to having success under Chip Kelly.

Overtime

Here are some non-NFL related things that cool people might be talking about in the asylum cell next to you:

Suicide Squad looks like it’s going to be a giant dumpster fire disaster of a movie. Turns out there re two cuts of the movie out there, which means Director’s Cut time … Did you hear that Eminem might be gearing up to come at Drake and finally destroy him … Will Smith stopped by Late Show and performed ‘Summertime’ on a whim.
