According to a report, the Dallas Cowboys and Josh McCown discussed a deal centered around quarterback Josh McCown.

With Kellen Moore having gone down and rookie quarterback Dak Prescott being inexperienced, the Dallas Cowboys are in need of a backup quarterback. They were one of many teams linked to Nick Foles, who opted to join the Kansas City Chiefs instead.

However, one of the names that the Cowboys are now being linked to is Cleveland Browns quarterback Josh McCown. He has proven himself to be more than serviceable in his time as a quarterback and going home would be the perfect situation for him.

According to Ed Werder, the two sides did indeed discuss a deal, but the price was too high for the Cowboys for now.

It makes sense that the price is high, as the Browns will likely need him if Robert Griffin III can’t stay healthy. The Cowboys in the meantime will have to hope that Tony Romo can stay healthy if they don’t get another backup.

However, the Cowboys seem destined to go out and land somebody.
