The newest class of the Pro Football Hall of Fame is set to officially be inducted this weekend for their crowning achievements on the gridiron and what they brought to the game. However, not ever inductee is still with us to take the stage and give a speech defining their careers.

One of the greats that has passed on that will be inducted this weekend in quarterback Ken Stabler. Nicknamed “Snake,” Stabler was one of the best mobile quarterbacks to ever play the game and he used his legs to help him succeed at all facets of the game.

Coming out of Alabama, Stabler eventually landed the starting quarterback position for the Raiders and earned himself the starting position with an epic scrambling touchdown in the playoffs. He would eventually lead the Raiders to a Super Bowl victory and he would go onto play well over a decade in the NFL.

He was an All-Pro quarterback and even won the MVP one year. He really defined a new era of quarterbacks and probably should have been inducted sooner. Although he is gone, the memories of him live on.
