Now that Mathieu is in the fold for a long time with the Cardinals, general manager Steve Keim is wasting no time getting to work and extending the contracts of some of his other star players on the roster.
According to Adam Schefter, the Cardinals have are going to be extending their two most important players on offense. Schefter is reporting that the Cardinals have extended the contracts of quarterback Carson Palmer and wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald.

This is a smart move for Keim, as it allows the Cardinals to lock up two key assets. It will be interesting to see the numbers on a deal like this and whether or not this moves some money that will allow the Cardinals to have some more space to lock up some of their other players that will need deals.
They still are in need of getting deals done with Chandler Jones, Calais Campbell, Michael Floyd and other big name players currently on the roster.
