Men’s single sculls,  4:30am (Pacific time): Men’s single sculls starts the morning off with 6 heats. There are no men representing Team USA because there were no qualifiers for the event. Keep an eye out for 2012 Olympic gold medalist Mahe Drysdale of New Zealand, and current world champion Ondrej Synek of the Czech Republic.

Women’s single sculls, 5:30am PT: Team USA is represented by Gevvie Stone, whose father, Gregg Stone, is also her coach. Stone will compete against 2014 world champion Emma Twigg from New Zealand and Mirka Knapkova, the 2012 gold medalist from the Czech Republic.

Men’s coxless pair, 6:30am PT: New Zealanders Eric Murray and Hamish Bond haven’t lost a race since 2009 and they’re looking to win back to back gold after winning in London. Americans Nareg Guregian and Anders Weiss are looking for an upset win in the event.

Women’s double sculls, 7am PT: The team to watch in Rio are New Zealand’s Zoe Stevenson and Eve McFarlane who won back-to-back world championships in this event. Ellen Tomek, who raced in the 2008 Bejing Olympics, partners with Meghan O’Leary to represent Team USA.

Men’s double sculls, 7:30am PT: Team USA men did not qualify for this event, so you should watch for strong competition from Norway and New Zealand. Brothers Valent and Martin Sinkovic will represent Croatia in the event.

Men’s coxless lightweight four, 8am PT: Anthony Fahden, Robin Prendes, Edward King and Tyler Nase represent Team USA. This squad already brought home a medal in the World Rowing Cup this year, and they have a chance to compete for a spot against New Zealand.

Men’s quadruple sculls, 8:30am PT: Watch for strong action from Germany and Australia. Team USA did not qualify for this event.

Women’s quadruple sculls, 8:50am PT: The Polish women come to Rio fresh off of a win at the World Rowing Cup in May. They’re expecting strong competition from Germany, and while the Team USA boat features 2012 medalists Adrienne Martelli and Megan Kalmoe, along with Grace Latz and Tracy Eisser, the US team is known for huge upsets after beating Germany in 2015.
