A Patriots beat writer once said Tyrann Mathieu would be a major bust, but now Honey Badger isn’t pleased that the writer blocked him on Twitter
Arizona Cardinals defensive back Tyrann Mathieu just inked a shiny new contract extension with his team worth $62.5 million over the course of five years. Every dollar of that is well-deserved as Mathieu has proven over his time in the NFL that he’s one of the best and most versatile players at his position and can change the game at any moment. Despite the fact that his talent was always there, though, one New England Patriots beat writer thought he’d be a bust.

Sean Glennon, a writer for the Providence Journal and author of Tom Brady-centric books, sent out these tweets that gained some steam regarding Tyrann Mathieu in the NFL Draft:
Why would any #NFL team even entertain the notion of risking a draft pick on Tyrann Mathieu at this point? XFL personality; XFL talent.

My great hope is that someone will take Tyrann Mathieu so I don't have to hear about him again when the #Patriots are on the clock next.

Tick, tick, tick. RT @ProFootballTalk: Cardinals sign Tyrann Mathieu http://t.co/wdapZbQpZi

Though Glennon may have taken it slightly too far, we’ve all made mistakes in the world of sports—thinking one player is the second-coming and he’s a bust and vice-versa. All that matters is that you own up to it and move on.
Apparently Glennon instead has gone with the strategy of run-and-hide.
On Saturday, Tyrann Mathieu apparently went to check up on his old pal to see if he had anything to say about his new $62.5 million contract, but his efforts were in vain as Glennon had blocked the Cardinals DB. That prompted the Honey Badger to send out this incredible tweet as he called the writer “too old” to be doing stuff like that:
If you come at Tyrann Mathieu, you best not miss…and you should also not block him on Twitter if you do, because he will call you out on it.
