During the Ranking Round on Friday, Korea earned the top-seed in the Women’s Team competition on Sunday. An absolute dynasty, Korea has won every gold medal since the team competition became an Olympic event in 1988. On Sunday, they added another chapter to their records.

Korea was joined by Russia, China, and Chinese Taipei in earning a birth in the quarterfinals, as the top four seeds advance automatically. Only three of the four countries would advance to the semifinals, as China was upset by Italy. Italy shocked most by winning their first round match, beating what was supposed to be a more talented Brazil squad.

In the semifinals, Korea disposed of Chinese Taipei, earning another spot in the Gold Medal Game. Russia ended Italy’s Cinderella story in the other semifinal match, setting up a date with Korea for the gold. However, just like every Olympics since 1988, Korea proved to be too much.

Korea took home the gold, with Russia taking the silver, and Chinese Taipei winning the bronze by beating Italy in the Bronze Medal Game.

With the conclusion of the team events at the 2016 Rio Olympics, all archers will now turn their attention to bringing home an individual medal for the next six days. The individual competition starts on Monday, and will consist of 64 men and women vying for a chance for a medal. On Monday, 20 archers from both genders will begin their quest for a spot in the field of 16.

On August 11 and 12, the women and men, respectively will go from 16 down to the medal winners.
