Olympics Men’s Basketball: Brazil vs Lithuania
Olympics men’s basketball at Rio 2016 officially tipped off on Day 1 of the Games as there were three Group A matchups that took place on Saturday in Carioca Arena1. On Sunday, the action and focus in men’s basketball will switch over to Group B as there will be three more games played in the competition. However, the best of that trio could very well be the Brazil vs Lithuania matchup that has show-stealing potential.

Lithuania is one of the possible dark horses in the Olympics men’s basketball competition as they have plenty of NBA talent and some players like Jonas Valanciunas and incoming NBA rookie Domantas Sabonis that could really make an impact on the competition in Rio.
However, the Brazil team not only can boast home-court advantage for the 2016 Olympics, but they also have a veteran squad that has played a great deal together. Even with Anderson Varejao not playing in Rio, the likes of Marcelo Huertas, Leandro Barbosa, and Raul Neto could very well put up enough of a fight to pick up an opening win on their home turf in the Olympics.
This matchup in Olympics men’s basketball will be broadcast on both NBCSN and the Olympics Basketball Channel. If you’re so inclined, you can also catch the live stream of the action on NBCOlympics.com and the NBC Sports app.
