5. Baron Davis, age 36

Baron Davis could be the closest guy on this list to making an actual NBA comeback. Right now, he’s starring in the D-League with the Delaware 87ers. He signed up for the job this year after he last played in the league with the Knicks during the 2011-12 season. Delaware is the developmental team for the Philadelphia 76ers, indicating Davis could have something in the works.

During his former NBA playing days, he had roles with both the Charlotte and New Orleans Hornets, the Golden State Warriors, the Los Angeles Clippers, and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Davis led the NBA in steals twice during his career and was a two-time All-Star back in 2002 and 2004. He’s averaged over 16 points and seven assists per game over the course of his pro career.

In addition to all that, he was simply huge for the Golden State Warriors back in the 2007 NBA Playoffs. Davis averaged 25.3 points, 6.5 assists, and 4.5 rebounds during that run in 11 total postseason games. He averaged over 20 per game in the playoffs for the Hornets franchises in 2002 and 2003 as well.

Right now, Davis is getting a decent 22.5 minutes per game for the 87ers and is making the most of it. He’s averaging nearly 13 points per game, snatching about 2.5 rebounds a contest and dishing out 3.5 assists on average. He’s played just six games for the team, but at age 37 is still getting it done.

With Davis playing in the D-League, it certainly shows he still has that hunger to move up to the bigger league. It could definitely happen, and with the Sixers in constant rebuild mode, he would make a great mentor for their younger talents who are making their way in the league.
