MEDAL RESULT | Women's Synchronized 10m Platform

On Tuesday, the women took to the platform for the 2016 Rio Olympics 10m Synchronized Platform Final, looking to take home the last synchronized women’s gold of this year’s Summer Games. As with all the other synchronized events, China was expected to take home the gold, and they did just that. The Chinese team of Chen Ruolin and Liu Huixia scored an incredible 354.00 points, winning the gold by almost ten points over Malaysia.

China continues to dominate this event, and has now won every Olympic and World championship title in the women’s synchronized platform since it’s inception in 2000. With her gold in the event, Ruolin has now won more diving golds than any diver in Olympic history. Ruolin and partner Wang Hao also won the gold medal in this event during the 2012 London Olympics.

The biggest surprise was the diving of Malaysia, who beat out Canada for the silver medal. The Canadian team of Meaghan Benfeito and Roseline Filion were expected to at least give China little challenge, but they will have to settle for the bronze.

On Wednesday, the synchronized events will come to an end, as the men take to the springboard for the Men’s Synchronized 3m Springboard Final. The Chinese tandem of Qin Kai and Cao Yuan have dominated this event in recent competitions, and are once again expected to take home the gold in Rio.
