You’re talking about a sport that draws some of the most unique parts of other sports and compiles them into one glorious combination. And now these women have been absolutely lighting the court on fire in Rio.

After the first round of games from the women, there was still a lot to be seen from the Olympics women’s handball competition as to who is a viable medal threat and who just was great on one day.

Group A
Spain: 24, Norway: 27
Brazil: 26, Romania: 13
Angola: 27, Montenegro: 25
Group B
Republic of Korea: 28, Sweden: 31
France: 25, Russia: 26
Argentina: 18, Netherlands: 26
Norway gets back to their winning ways while Angola and Brazil picked up another win. Meanwhile, Sweden and Russia still look like the teams to out of Group B.

It’s safe to say that things are just getting rolling in the Olympics women’s handball competition. That being said, Angola is looking like the dark horse in this event while Brazil may very well be the gold medal favorites at this point with how dominant they’ve looked through two matches.
If there’s one thing that’s definite at this point, though, it’s that the fans should be thankful for how great the Olympics women’s handball action has been to this point.
