The Brazilian women’s soccer team is currently sitting atop the Group E standings with two wins and no losses.   The home town team was been very impressive so far in these Olympic games. They are coming off of a win over Sweden 5-1.  The Brazilians are known as a soccer powerhouse, and have made in to the quarterfinals in each of the last five Olympic games.  They will be taking on a South African team that was lost both of their matches so far.  Brazil will once again make it to the quarterfinals regardless of the outcome in this match.  The top two teams from each group will move on as well as the top two third placing teams as a whole.

The South African team are coming off of a loss to China PR.  South Africa did not advance past the group stage in 2012, which was the first year that they qualified for the Olympic games.  Although they are mathematically out from moving on to the quarterfinals, they will be playing their best for their country.

These two teams will be playing at the same time as the other two teams in their group, China PR and Sweden.
