Rumors have been circulating about a new PS4 console since before E3 2016 earlier this year, and although we haven’t heard an official announcement from the company, it looks like we’ll finally be getting a reveal along with some details about the new console. According to Vice, which translated reports from the French gaming website Gameblog, Sony has invited various press members to attend their event in New York on September 7.

As stated earlier, Sony had announced the existence of an upgraded PS4 console, but details were very minimal. Rumored to be an upgraded PS4, the PS4 Neo is supposed to be able to play PS4 titles at 4K, which improves game visuals by quite a bit. It will also reportedly be better suited for VR functionalities. Overall, it’s a better, more capable PS4 console. We’re not sure what else will come with it, but we’ll likely learn more when more details and information are unveiled at the event.

Other than the PS4 Neo announcement, it’s also worth noting that Sony may display certain games that are already out to demo them on the new machine, showcasing improvements in graphics and performance. We may also be getting announcements about new games, but it looks like the main focus will be on the new console.
