Twitter was in disbelief over the way Serena Williams lost at the Olympics in Rio.

Everyone was excited to watch Serena Williams do battle with Elina Svitolina in women’s tennis in the Olympics on Tuesday night, but instead, everyone watched as Williams was completely destroyed on the tennis court and never even stood a chance.

After losing the first set, Williams was even worse in the second set and faulted so many times, she did not look like a woman that has won everything that there is to win in tennis.

With Williams quite possibly playing one of her worst matches ever, Twitter was in disbelief as they watched one of the greatest athletes ever go down without a fight.

It is always a surreal event when one of the greats go down and this was no different. To see Williams not have that same focus and energy she is used to having on the court was difficult to watch and it was clearly not her best day.

The good news is that like all of the great athletes in their prospective sports, she should bounce back from this at the U.S. Open.
