United States Olympic beach volleyball star Kerri Walsh Jennings just dropped her first set in Olympic play since 2012.

Even to the most casual fans of the Olympics, Kerri Walsh Jennings is a household name every four years when the games come around. The beach volleyball star is known for her dominance in the event with former partner Misty May-Treanor, as the pair won gold medals in 2004, 2008 and 2012 together.

The pair didn’t drop a set in either 2004 or 2008, but finally lost a set in the 2012 London Olympics. She can now add another lost set to the total after dropping the second in Wednesday’s match against Switzerland’s Isabelle Forrer and Anouk Verge-Depre.

Walsh Jennings is teaming up with April Ross in this year’s Olympics after May-Treanor decided to retire with her three gold medals. Dropping one set in a preliminary match is nothing to look down upon, given the pair still came out on top by bouncing back and taking the third set to win the match. The victory gives the pair a 3-0 record din preliminary play as they await the quarterfinals to begin.

It is possible the pair could drop another set at some point in the knockout stage, but as long as they keep winning and finish with the gold, as they are expected to do, the individual sets become afterthoughts once they are standing on the medal podium.
