Wednesday will be the final day of individual competition before the Round of 16, as the final 24 archers from the men and women’s side go head to head. The field is full of incredible archers, including 2012 London Olympics silver medal winner Takaharu Furukawa of Japan, who will try to advance on the men’s side. Third seeded David Pasqualucci of Italy will also be in this field for the men, making this arguably the deepest field yet.

Top-seeded Choi Mi-sun of South Korea is the big name in the women’s brackets, as she tries to avoid the fate of fellow countryman Kim Woo-jin, who was eliminated in the Round of 32 on Monday. Mi-sun already has a gold medal from the women’s team competition, so she will be looking for the sweep.

South Korea has dominated play early on, as both the men and women took home the team golds over the weekend. As was shown on Monday, anything can happen, so the top-seeded players need to be on their game if they want to advance.

At the end of play on Wednesday, the remaining women will return for the Round of 16 on Thursday, and will play until the medalists are crowned. The men will have to wait until Friday, which is the final day of Archery for the 2016 Rio Olympics.
