In perhaps the toughest group in the whole tournament, the draw saw the defending champions Mexico, the defending bronze medalists, South Korea, and the might of the Germans all pitted against each other. Before the commencement of the tournament, this was the most anticipated group of the four, and entering the final round of games, there is still much to decipher.

While minnows Fiji, having lost both of their games so far, sit bottom of the group — though this is no surprise to anyone and it is an incredible experience for the country that they are here, regardless of challenging for qualification — all of the other three teams could finish in any of the top three positions.

Germany sits on two points after two frustrating draws. However, with a chance to win and win big, significantly improving their goal difference in the process, they will be hopeful of finishing in the top two positions with Mexico and South Korea set to face off against each other.

Furthermore, with Serge Gnabry now having forged a role in the starting eleven, the Germans have one of the most talented players in the tournament, someone who has rescued a point in both their games so far, scoring three in two games so far. Germany will win this game, but a draw in the other will mean that goals are necessary. Expect fireworks, even if they’re not enough.
