Two matches, Serbia vs Greece and Hungary vs Australia, ended in tie games, with all four teams earning 9 points. The water polo rules state that tie games still end in an earned point for all teams. Currently, Brazil sits atop the leader board for Group A with a perfect 4 points, followed by Greece with 3 points, Hungary and Serbia with 2 points, Australia with 1 point, and Japan with 0 points.
