Olympics Women’s Basketball: Senegal vs Canada
Fans of hoops looking ahead at Olympics women’s basketball prior to the start of Rio 2016, you could have picked the favorites somewhat easily. In doing so, though, you might not have had Canada as any kind of viable threat to win a medal at the Games. Entering Day 5 on Wednesday, August 10, though, that’s exactly where we stand and Canada can further prove that in a matchup with Senegal.

Canada opened up their run in Rio 2016 Olympics women’s basketball with a 22-point victory over China and seemed geared for a massive run. They had slightly worse go of it in their second game, playing Serbia, as they only won by four. However, a 2-0 start is great any way you slice it and they shouldn’t have much trouble with Senegal.
The Senegalese women have been getting a rough go of it on the hardwood thus far as the United States and then China laid a hurting on them. Anything can happen, though, and they’ll hope for a better result against 2-0 Canada.
Wednesday’s Olympics women’s basketball matchup between Senegal and Canada unfortunately won’t be broadcast live, but will air on tape delay at 7:45 p.m. ET on the Olympics Basketball Channel. Live streaming for the game will be available though on NBCOlympics.com and the NBC Sports app, both of which can be accessed using a cable or satellite subscription.
