According to Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News, the NBA will release its 2016-17 regular season schedule at 2:45 PM PT and NBA TV will have its own show at the top of the hour.
For folks on the East Coast, this means that the 2016-17 NBA schedule will be released at 5:45 PM ET and NBA TV will be covering at 6:00 PM ET once the pundits get their heads around all 30 teams regular season schedules.
Yes, every team in the NBA will play the same 16 games within their respective division (home and away against all four division rivals) and the 30 games against the 15 clubs from the opposite conference (home and away), but divisional and conference strength will have a lot to do with a team’s success on the hardwood this winter.
How the other 36 games in-conference allocated between the 10 teams not in a club’s division will play a pivotal role in a team’s path to the playoffs or not. Some teams will in the same conference will play each other thrice or four times.
A few of the games that people will certainly have their eye out to circle on the calendar are the first game between Golden State and Oklahoma City, Kevin Durant’s return trip to Oklahoma City, Cleveland versus Golden State, and of course the plethora of Christmas Day games.
